Sojung Lee is a contemporary painter working primarily with large-scale oil paintings. Her practice centers on the exploration of inner states—where emotion, rhythm, and presence quietly coexist.
Beginning with daily pen drawings, Lee’s process allows small fragments of sensation to expand across the canvas, often exceeding the scale that seems physically contained. Her paintings are not constructed through narrative, but through accumulation, resonance, and moments of stillness.
After years of developing her visual language, Lee’s recent works reflect a softened intensity—where movement and calm remain layered rather than resolved. Her paintings invite viewers into a space of openness, allowing each encounter to unfold without instruction or conclusion.
